Flawless widescreen
So, I finished the demo and while it was quite a bit easier than conventional Souls games, I loved it. It's possibly the best Souls game thus far. The only gripe is that I could finish it before killing all story bosses (I left Malenia alive, unknowingly).

Anyway, I decided the game was worth the 47 euro and bought it to support the developers. I played the demo version with flawless widescreen to unlock the fps and was wondering if anyone here played the steam version with flawless widescreen. I wouldn't want to get banned because stupod ol' steam thinks I'm cheating.

Anyway, thanks!

I see screen shots of people using widescreen. I think you have to play offline because of Easy Anti-Cheat though.

Damn it, I was afraid that would be the case. I wonder why they don't just unlock the fps if it's that simple to do >.<

I played over 330 hours with it, offline of course. Just be aware that the FPS unlock will make animations, and enemies faster. I was getting 110 fps and it certainly made things harder.

Oh, I finished the game with FPS unlocked and didn't notice any difference in difficulty. I was averaging ~160 fps iirc

Anyway, so offline only! Thanks!

did you try playing it without fps unlocked as well for comparison? Feels like the game is in slow motion

Of course! I played the first 20-ish hours without flawless. Then I discovered the app and played the remaining game with. I didn't notice any difference in game play; just a much smoother overal experience.

FPS should not affect the speed at which you experience movement, mate. It sounds like you're screwing around with the FOV?

So... what demo?

Are you saying you were part of the limited network test? My bad if you were.
Also sounds like an extensive demo if you unknowingly missed a major boss.

Not trying to be suspicious or assuming, but it sounds like you were not playing the 'demo' with flawless widescreen at all and just used that as an excuse to not mention piracy.

Again, my bad if that is wrong, but my BS radar puts up so many red flags here.

Why does it matter to you what demo I was playing?

Your radar may interpret it however it wants; no one cares.

He pirated the game and he’s trying to be cute about it. Good on him for buying it after he illegally downloaded the game to begin with

That's an assumption, though. Pirating games is bad, mkay.

I just went back and forth for awhile at 60 fps and unlocked fps. Maybe its just my brain adjusting to 60 fps, but the animations seem slower to me. I never messed with FOV.

Elden Ring is the first game I have played below 100 fps in a very long time so maybe its me but I swear there is a difference in the timings. Anyway 60 fps looks so awful, I get a headache after a few minutes, it looks so much better unlocked and it feels faster to me, even if it isn't.

The iframes are based off the FPS lock of 60.

At 120 FPS you have half the window you have at 60 FPS to time a roll correctly.

At 120 FPS you have half the window you have at 60 FPS to time a roll correctly.

Even if this is true, the app apparently fixes this, because I had absolutely no issues and was constantly playing at 130 or higher. You can also check it with nvidia's overlay; the fps and true fps we're pretty much identical.

I never said you had an issue, just said you had a smaller window.

Could you easily tell if you have 2 iframes less padding on each side of getting a move off running at 120?

If you can do that you can probably tell FPS without a counter.
