Elden ring is just you go and kill whatever is on your way.
The only similarity they share is the open world.
I would say Skyrim, because of the "modded" part. In a way ER is a sandbox, but with mods Skyrim can be the better sandbox *for your specific taste*.
Yet you will never reach the same game design of ER even with skyrim mods, you can increase difficulty you can add mobs but never at all reach what ER propose in the game after thousands hours of modding i can tell.
So it is not comparable at all
