Why are there so many disconnects upon invading!?

Invading in the outter wall area, 80% of my invasions at the boss end in a disconnect as soon I am loaded in. Why does this keep happening it is so utterly frustrating!

We already have enough to deal with, password summons with Rivers of Blood, Rain of Stars, Elden Stars and the countless of other things you can barely deal with because password summons barely get downscaled it may as well not even matter!

And if you do manage to deal with all of that. Enjoy the mid-fight disconnect. No, not Alt F4, just people disconnecting at complete random. Over 5 weeks in and this is still not fixed? Give me a break!

I hate to break it to you, but we don't want to play with you. Invaders are unwelcome, rude, and cheat at every turn. If you want to do PvP, you should do duels with like-minded people. Otherwise, play a different game :)

I'm afraid you are the one playing the wrong game if you Alt + F4 as soon as you get invaded while doing co-op. Invasions are part of the game's mechanics, if you want to avoid them, go solo or Offline. Or better yet, you find another game to play.

As for OP: I think currently there's a lot of server issues, I myself get disconnects just like you mention, and also mid fights. From needs to fix this connection jank.

That's trash servers, not disconnects. Hosts only disconnect when their phantoms are dead

These anti pvpers are just sad pathetic trolls, thats all.

They have to try and get a rise out of people because they cant get their way like babies.

Half the time I've gotten invaded the invader would get disconnected from the bad servers, and about 90% of the other invasions they were using exploits to try and kill me... So I can see why people alt-F4 when they are sick of dealing with exploiters. (Or you just got disconnected because fromsoft can't make a decent server :/)

I think in major part it's crappy servers. I've been getting disconnect after disconnect even at times when it would make no sense for the host to be pulling the plug.

The rest I suppose is the standard Alt+F4ing. Obviously not cool, but I sympathize to some extent to the people who are doing it as soon as an invader rolls up. We dug our own grave to a great extent in that regard.

Pretty sure Elden ring doesnt have any servers, its peer to peer like all the other games.
Fromsoft is simply really really bad at networking stuff.

Just in case people are not aware. These are server disconnects. When I invade at that boss I get the disconnect error as soon the loading screen is over and my invade summoning animation starts.

You can notice it as well on other people, just suddenly some random person has returned to their world. Not invaded, not summoned, just returned.
This happens quite frequently on regular multiplayer but it is particularly bad in that area.
