But if you played real RPG games like Fallout 1-2, Planescape Torment, MOTB, KOTOR 2, Bloodlines, Disco Elysium... nah... not even close to being "the Best RPG ever made".
Is it really that hard to imagine not everyone enjoys what you enjoy? You enjoy it, great. Yet here you are instead of immersing yourself in something that's fun. Sad, honestly.
It's good that you're liking the first 20 hours though because you're going to be seeing the same enemies and assets used again over and over. They'll just have 100x more HP and damage at the end zones. Even MMORPGs will bother to give reused enemies like a different color or something, but FromSoft just gives you exactly the same thing over and over but with more HP and damage numbers.
Story and characters are a snore fest. It's the same, now-tired tropes and themes they've done in every other Souls games. I haven't even finished the playthrough and already I'm bored of the open world. It feels more like a chore than exciting to get through, like it feels big just for the sake of being big without interesting mechanics or gameplay.
"Real" RPG games... lol
Elden Ring is an action JRPG. The games you list are from another genre.
Im not so sure.
For me most open world games feel equaly boring to play.
Filling up your coca cola with a lot of additional water to have more of it is just not a good concept. It tastes shallow afterwards, less intense.
Open worlds are mostly a marketing scam to trick people into thinking "bigger is always better" , when in reality its rather "wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle".
"quality over quantity" is a way better slogan for good games.
But maybe you will continue to enjoy it. I think I saw some person on like their 7th playthrough already or something. If so, good for you. I can't say the same though lol
Funny you say that when Elden Ring is the action RPG which has the widest variety in enemies / movesets without any DLC. You're also lying when you say they don't bother to give different colors. Because... Well they actually do, and do much more, enemies have different armors sets, different weapon sets, different type of attacks (sacred, fire, thunder, exalted, etc.), etc. The diversity in this game is HUGE lol. I guess you didn't notice that the 4 lava dragons all had different move sets. Or maybe you didn't even meet a single one...
Are you so mad you are unable to finish the game that you ended up hating it or what ?
a RPG is still a RPG. It doesn't matter if it is made in Japan, China, USA or UK. It's all RPG. And being a really good RPG doesn't make a game "from another genre".
Oh, I caught a good one there. You're saying that Final Fantasy 3 and The Witcher are the same genre ?
