2h str multiplier 66str
I’ve seen some claims that if two handing a strength build you should stop at 66 str as the 1.5x multiplier will bring you to 99 str and you are done. I have seen other claims that you can keep dumping into str past 66 as the 2h multiplier will bring you beyond the 99 cap and increase AT. Has anyone here tested this?

Thanks

easy way to test.
Get to 66 Str. Equip sword with 2h and attack a mob. Take note of damage.
Equip talisman to give +str. Go to same mob, attack again. Compare damage.

Seems a, really easy test to carry out tbh, just remember to let us, all know the results.

All of them.
In every souls game having 66 str and two handing got you to 99 and never went beyond that for damage.
But here it seems to work and it does put you above 99.

i meant which scenario, a or b. i laid out two scenarios and the answer is “that’s how it was in other souls games”…well which one was true in other souls games? yeah it’s easy to test i guess i’ll go blow a rebirth but i figure someone here has done it and like to share. it’s funny this board everyone is an expert at complaining about the game saying this and that is op or broken but if you ask about a game mechanic you get an answer that doesn’t make sense or crickets.

As I said above
In previous games its the 1st option so 99 is the absolute cap even 2 handed
In ER its option 2 where Two handing can get you above 99 effective str

1) Take special attacks, like Ruins Greatsword, then until you have 99 in stats, you damage increasing. Specifically for this weapon it has pretty good scale.

2) Take regular attacks, each point til 99 increases scale bonus. The damage actually worth in case you deal not enough dmg, because a mob have last 1hp.

Conclusions: getting 99 str is valuable when your build allows it.
You did not understand the question

I told you, that any point beyond 66 is increasing dmg. Why? Because of scale. Not because of 2h mechanic. All it does its multiple your 1h dmg by 1.5.
Wrong.
It multiplies your effective str attribute.
Op was asking if this gets them above the 99 cap , as in previous games two handing a weapon with 66 str had The same damage as two handing it with 99 str so all those points would be wasted.

Yes , I was running around with 66 str but After I got told about it I went to 76 and it does increase the damage and the AR just as it should

And where I was wrong. No one really knows the real background math... except devs.
You misunderstand the question.
Its about 1 stat that is str.
When you two hand a weapon you gain 1.5 effective str multiplayer , if you have 66 str that puts you at 99 str , which is the limit a stat can reach.
Question was wheter having more than 66 str and two handing would put your effective str above 99.
