Any weapons similar to Moonveil?
I just beat up the boss that drops Moonveil.
After many levels of bumbling around and mostly investing in my HP, I was already heading in the direction of INT scaling (I use Rogier's Rapier with Glintstone Pebble Ash of War and also carry a Demi-Human Queen's Staff +6 for pebble spamming as needed).

I still currently lack the INT required to properly wield Moonveil, so I haven't tried it out yet. (Still also want more Mind because I don't have enough FP to summon any of my more interesting Ash Summons!)

I already kind of decided that I don't particularly enjoy the katana. The rapier has been doing quite well for me.

Well, there are plenty of interesting weapons scaling with INT, and also a lot of good ashes of war which add INT scaling to a weap. In my mind, it's more important to find a good combo of weapon + ash of war you enjoy.
For example, my favourite is Guardian swordspear with phantom slash or Omen Cleaver with Double slash and ice affinity (so it scales with INT).

Dark moon greatsword
Fallingstar beast jaw
Are my favorite int weapons

The main appeal of the moonveil is the weapon art which is fast, does high damage and is effective at breaking posture.
It's probably the most useful INT weapon in general, but there are others. Up to you what you choose.

You could try the heavy thrusting swords if you like rapiers.

Or Loretta slash ash of war...

Wing of Astel has a lower int requirement and a better weapon art for PvE. Power stance it with a cold infused curved sword and it's kind of busted.

Is breaking posture what causes the enemy to fall down so you can crit them?

I bounce between big shield and buckler, as I like being able to Parry.
If I can easily and reliably score critical hits by breaking posture with Moonveil's ability (thus keeping my HP and FP topped off with my Crimson/Cerulean Assassin Dagger Talismans), that could work for me.

Edit: although that FP cost on Transient Moonlight looks a bit hefty next to my puny FP pool.

Yeah, there's a hidden meter that will increase as you hit an enemy, especially headshots, decreases as time passes without them getting hit. If it fills, they stagger and you can crit them. Moonveil L2+R2 is very good at doing this at range. Probably too good so it might get changed at some point.

If you're doing an INT build you will need Mind. But not a huge amount. There is a talisman you can buy from Iji that will reduce the FP cost for weapon arts.

The "super armor" damage that Moonveil does was nerfed in 1.03. It will still stagger even bosses, just not as often.

Also, unless you play without an Ash or are all-in on Mimic Tear, high-end summons like Tiche or even Lhutel take a metric ton of FP.
