Blaidd the Half Wolf is always hostile to me even on new characters

I have spent many hours on Elden Ring and realized that I had failed every Npc questline I had come across. So I made a new character with the sole intention of doing the quests. I loaded up a new character and started hunting for characters.
Firstly I went to the starting church with Kale talked to him bought a crafting kit and did the coastal cave clear to the church entered the church and went to communion with no dragon hearts.
I then went to the first encampment of Godrick's men and looted all items and killed every enemy, (I go back to the church and talk to Ranni to claim the spirit callers bell) then went across the bridge and went into the ruins with the first death blossom you'll typically meet, purchased some sorceries from the lady there and moved on to the Mistwood Ruins. I got there and cleared the graveyard nearby then entered without agroing anything. Go back to Kale, get the taunt and then when I go back to Mistwood before I even use the taunt. Blaidd is hostile to me and I don't know what to do.
What am I doing wrong that is causing this to happen consecutively?

Are you using the Finger Snap in the area, BEFORE approaching him?

Did you kill any of the big bears?

I couldn't even get to the area to use the snap before he was hostile. Also I no big bears were killed, not even the one in the ruins.

I don't know what causes it, but I've had the same problem.
Using the church of vows Atoment feature makes him friendly again, though : )
