why are there up to 6 status effect bars running down right in my face EVERY time i use a grace? not that it makes imo no sense, it's ugly as ♥♥♥♥...

are you using a soreseal?

Because you are using something that is debuffing you and the grace is resetting it.

ya, but that's a permanent effect

It probably adds soreseal debuff each time after rest since it removes all debuffs.

Its not the soreseal. This also happens when you use the wonderous flask

This also happens when you have a great rune equipped. I also don´t get why those status bars have to be so huge and all over the screen

It happens in previous games too, it's just how the "formula" work, i donno if it is lazy programming because seems like it is, same like black fire reducing max hp effect still persist after respawn if you died to it, but it is how it is and it didn't affect the game much

quoted on reddit

"It's because you're wearing something that's increasing your resistance to those things, like a ring or something

Edit for more clarity: Dark Souls status effects work like this: Let's say that it takes 250 points of poison, or any other status effect, to become poisoned. At neutral, your character has 0/250 points. Let's say a ring increases that max by 50, to 300. This makes your character have 50/300 points in that status effect and it decreases back to 0/300 over time. This effect resets every time you die or go to a bonfire"

ok, i figured it's godricks greater rune charged up with a rune arc.
thanks for clarifying that..."decrease back to max" paradox.
