ELDEN RING

ELDEN RING

View Stats:
STILL at zero percent GPU usage
In a patch at the beginning of march a patch was dropped "fixing" the issue with GPU usage or so it claimed. Right now pull up your task manager and check and see where your GPU usage is at. All of my friends whom I have asked have all reported the same thing, zero, or near zero GPU usage. I have read articles and followed guides, however nothing managed to fix my issue.

As far as I can tell this is a universal problem, and only people with extremely kitted out computers are not feeling the effects of this. As someone who does not use iGPU or integrated graphics so it cannot be using that. Someone said it would be a bug with windows reading task manager data, but if that was the case it would effect other games too as it reads data from the GPU itself, nothing running through elden ring.

HAS ANYONE SOLVED THIS ISSUE THAT ISNT JUST GOING IN AND SETTING YOUR GPU TO BE USED.

if you have an nvidia gpu, check out the things involving nvidia gpu and control panel including monitoring your cpu and gpu utilization through the nvidia overlay, not task manager.

GPU-Z is a great program for monitoring stats while playing, there's no way your GPU is running the game with 0% usage.

And are you using any other monitoring software or anything like that?

It's not universal that's for sure.. My gpu gets fully utilized more or less and so do my friends and we don't have top end machines by any stretch. Performance is what I would expect from my rig (5700xt gpu). Groups of friends often have the same issues because... Guess who helps setup each other's PC's, lol..

If you alt-tab to windows (IE the game gets put in the background and/or is not being displayed anymore) you would see GPU utilization drop significantly to w/e windows uses more or less.

If your game is running relatively well then there's nothing to worry about.

Edit: it's not running well I see, lol.

Did you add the game exe in Windows game mode settings to force high performance?

Are you on win 10?
Desktop, using multiple screen to actually walk around in game and view stats, yes to windows 10. I am doing everything right, do your friends also use AMD cards? maybe its an nvidia only issue.

3 of us have amd and 1 have Nvidia, I wouldn't count him though as he has a 3090
Hey as a test try unplugging your second screen. Don't just turn it off, disconnect it completely from your pc

Additionally, have you tried flipping between full screen windowed and real full screen?
doi you think you could ask your 3090 friend to test with task manager to check? it may be an nvidia issue

I'm getting a lot of crashes in lyndell capitol, seems my 16gb ram is getting maxed out and it just freezes... I think they patched in a lot of memory leaks or something my offline launch copy I tested before I bought the game works fine, flawless experience, no invisible enemies, but no EAC either... Not much we can do but wait for patches.

This is what GPU-Z looks like for me while playing Elden Ring, 1440P w/ Maximum gfx preset. Seems to be working as intended, had GPU-Z open on 2nd monitor while playing.

Ya GPUZ has current ,min, max & avg by clicking on whichever sensor you want to toggle readout type on.

hwmonitor is good too.
