I was confused about that too myself but I'd reccomend going to the capital.

But you should get to killing rahdahn now that's he is nerfed before the capital.

u can reach capital city from start

Technically, You don't need any if you just do the Volcano Manor Skip or go through the Waterfall Mines. They don't give you anything for having more Great Runes either so no point in rushing down every single Lord seeking extra content.

Yep. On my NG++ I bee-lined it to the capital after getting the first two Runes and then Boss rushed till the end.

BUT if it's your first play through, I would suggest exploring and seeing what the Lands Between has to offer.

Only thing I believe is going to atlus plateau early can break a few questlines but I'm not entirely sure.

technically it doesn't get you "into" the capital but you can get to atlus plateau after an optional boss
