ELDEN RING
The amount of reused bosses and enemies is ridiculous
I wish the world was 1/2 as big, but with unique encounters rather than the huge amount of rehashed bosses/enemies that we have today.

After the capital it becomes glaringly obvious. It feels very cheap and rushed.

How many variations of gargoyle, tree sentinel, erdtree avatars, magma dragons, dragons do I have to fight before it gets old?

Who cares whether a mob gets a big HP bar?! This is just arguing for arguing's sake.

Also 15 black/silver/winged/big knights were probably in each DS game. And you never had to actually kill all of them if you didn't want to - same in ER which is veritably huge on top of that. And who cares if there are 15 dragons overall, some of which are literally trash mobs because that location is their roost? And we haven't even spoken about taurus demons, capra demons, gargoyles, pursuers and drinking Sekiro ogres, Sekiro apes and big Sekiro samurais. Where is the outcry about those?

Seriously, this whole complaint is bs. For some real copy/paste check out the "theres too many dragons" thread.
First off, you Elden Ring fanboys seriously need to stop screeching at people criticizing an aspect of your beloved game, accusing them of just complaining for the sake of it: you need to realize that certain things you may think are nitpicks are massive issues to others.
Let's look at Dark Souls 3, the most refined Dark souls game: there's like what, 3 black knights? They appear as mobs, they aren't mini bosses. They don't have themes, they're all tucked away. Silver knights, again, appear as mobs (except in Irithyll where they're kill-once mobs). The mini bosses in Dark Souls 3 would be the outrider knights and the fire demon (those are the only ones off the top of my head). Also, about the dragons at their roost, those don't have hp bars: I didn't include those in my list (since as far as i know, those aren't flying dragons: flying dragons are the big agheel dragons with a boss hp bar + flying dragon bla as their name).
I am not talking about Sekiro, nor did I talk about Sekiro anywhere in this thread: you don't know my thoughts about Sekiro lol. I thought 4 drunkars was very lazy, even though it made sense lore-wise (technically). I thought double apes was garbage, I thought the 6 pursuers (in SOFS) was lazy and Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith are widely considered to be the worst Fromsoftware areas ever lol.
Think about it: why would a massive fan of Dark Souls 2 and 3 (i.e. me) set out to find issues to complain about in Elden Ring? It's because it's really bugging me. Erdtree avatars are literally stray demons from dark souls 1 with like one new move. So already they're not new to Elden Ring (they've been reskinned and revamped, but they're really really nothing new). OK, now imagine you don't know where you're going in Elden Ring so you're exploring. You're happy, you found a new area with hopefully new stuff. Now, when I see (the worst example for avatars) a castle with two erdtree avatars within two minutes of each other, i get annoyed. Similarly, when I find another erdtree avatar (sigh, again?) but this time it splits into two, I get annoyed.
I don't think removing the hp bar + boss music fixes the issue, but it's slightly (I'll take the slight improvement, it's better than none) better: the erdtree avatars (for example) are not proper boss fights (they have the moveset of a tutorial boss but just hit hard). It feels goofy and insulting when they throw music and a boss bar in with the fight. It's a mockery of the concept of a boss fight.

Sekiro have the development started after they started Elden Ring. So, Sekiro was made in less than 2 years, Elden Ring took 5 years. I dont like the two monks too in Sekiro, nor Blazing bull and Chained Ogro. But that game is not a 60 hours game, in fact, last time I took only 6 hours to beat the game. So, you dont get really tired as the same you get from playing Elden Ring. I can unsterstad too that From Software didnt had time to fully develop Sekiro, so they need to recycle content. But that is not the case with Elden Ring.

The game you want is not possible .
Ah, but the game I want is possible. It can be found in DS1,2, and 3. Only portions of ER are what I want and the rest is wasted effort. Lazily, haphazardly placing generic enemies in generic camps and copy pasting that all over a generic map does nothing for me. Same goes for the bosses which repeat more than any of ER's predecessors by a huge margin.

We didn't. What you are saying is a common strawman around here. What is unique is their placement. ER scarcely has that.

Eeeexactly. A large scale version of dark souls is not what we got at all, sadly

whole topic is about POSITIONING of enemies? O_o
i guess.. you are in wrong topic..

Ah, so the problem here is Dark Souls fans coping with the fact that Fromsoft tried something different.

? Read the thread please. The person I was replying to was saying they preferred the very carefully crafted compact worlds of dark souls, to which I replied saying that we unfortunately did not get a scaled up dark souls (the implication in context being that less thought was put in, to give quantity over quality).
