1. what??? "just run after him" wtf kinda- no you can't be serious here, yes you run after him but he just continues to do that. it's not fun to run half way across the arena dodging the 3 or 4 attacks over and over again
2. I'm so at a loss for- dude, I mean when he flies up into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stratosphere, even while locked on you can't see him or tell what he's going to do next!
3. I don't forget the jump button- it's just not practical to jump. Rolling is faster from a technical standpoint. Also again- no hit runs are possible because no hit runners are A) better than me by a large margin B) they're not wearing any form of armor whatsoever.
4. this is just straight up dickrider behavior, dude. The elden beast pulls out mechanics that aren't used in any portion of the game, the least they could do is give us some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ prewarning because no enemy whatsoever has ever healed from holy damage. it's out of the blue and stupid. it's just completely unjustifiable from a gameplay perspective to throw out random bits of mechanics that have no been introduced or even hinted at, being a thing.
Funny thing is, I've killed these bosses 3 times and 2 out of the 3 attempts I didnt even get hit.....and I'm a 41 year old fart. Suggestion on big bosses, DO NOT USE THE LOCK ON AIM AGAINST THEM. It helps a ton. And like someone else mentioned, use your jump button. It does wonders.
Malenia doesn't run away, and malienia doesn't have a torrent-sized arena. that's why, plus there's not a boss you have to before even attempting malenia's fight.
this boss fight was so unthought out it's unbelievable.
And the fact that people are just saying "git gud" when I'm literally at the end of the game is asinine, will people literally suck the ♥♥♥ out of Fromsoft's ♥♥♥♥ no matter what they do? I played DS1-3 and Sekiro, I know what difficulty is and is not. stop patronizing me and trying to be elitist, this fight is ass and you know it is. there's a thousand ways this boss would be less frustrating to deal with, letting us use torrent, putting a merchant note or something about the holy damage thing, giving us a maliketh-style fight where the elden beast bursts outside radagon at half health, anything would be better than guessing if it's going to elden stars or ring me while it's up in the air. anything would be better than having to slog through radagon just to make another attempt. anything would be then running for a solid 15 seconds across the arena just to get a slap or two in for it to vanish across the arena, cast elden stars, and you have to run across the arena after dodging it yet again.
that's my main ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem! Not using a gameplay mechanic that is intended to help you, isn't a rebuttal for why that mechanic is garbage. The camera in soulsbornes have been pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful, the reason why I and people like me didn't raise a fuss is because the big bad bosses that were too big for the camera were carefully thought out and usually didn't cause a problem. I genuinely remember thinking the same thing of this as the nameless king in ds3, if the camera wasn't an active detriment and worked, the fights would be significantly more manageable.
lmao tear that strawman down man, just destroy it, rip it apart like it killed your wife and children
I recently played DS3 again without touching any DLCs. And it was super easy for me, not bragging but I just normally leveled, tried a STR build for once, even tho I always liked fast weapons. I ended up using the Greataxe at the end, it just melts bosses and their openings are so big that the weapon is just fast enough to always get one hit in. I used a greatsword b4 and on Princes I could not beat them after a few tries because I traded with every single hit. I basically know if I swing its so slow that I get hit. As soon as I switched to Greataxe I did them 1st try with it. Most of the Bosses I did on the first try. Cinder just took me 2 because I got pretty unlucky. I mean I have lots of EXP with DS3 and easier does not mean better to me if it sounds like that BUT. The bosses not magic AOE spam you all the time, they actually let you heal, they seem "hard but fair" unlike ER where the bosses were just boring because they were the 13th version of a boss that pattern I had down by that point, and I was over leveled and later the bosses all were just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Radahn is ♥♥♥♥ because he hits too hard for the level most people go there, his floating is EXTREMELY confusing and his suck in attack ... it's all designed around having NPS beat him, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight. I just did him again under leveled, but I do this every time no matter how leveled I am. I just run around with the horse and resummon the NPCs like 20 times until they get him down, I may try every once in a while to get a hit in, but I have no interest to learn to beat him solo or like staying close and learn to dodge these insane swings.
And all these tryhards whining about "catering to noobs" because supposedly he got nerved. What actually did get nerved? His damage? Or just the bow damage at the beginning? Anyway it was he RIGHT decision to do so but they will never fix this crap boss design. It's not a "gimmick" boss like Yhorm either. Running away and summoing stupid NPCs, would never have thought they would make such a crappy boss with these years of exp.
Underrated advice here. Against big bosses you should only lock on when you want to block with your shield.
my main problem with melania was the stupid weeb anime thousand-cuts-in-a-second move, that ♥♥♥♥ seemed stupid. But what was more stupid, that, or the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ haligtree? I hated that section to my core. It was the most poorly thought out area I've ever seen in any Soulsborne game, and that and the Elden Beast is the main reason why I will not NG, and possibly why I won't finish the game at all. I'm sick of fighting the same enemies again and again and again...It's just not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun, dude.
