I disagree Witcher 1 is even better and more of an RPG than 3 will ever be. TW3 is insanely easy and had mainstream appeal. Of course it will be successful.

I played Witcher 1 the week it was released and loved it. Did Witcher 3 have more mainstream appeal than Witcher 1? Of course. But everything is relative. Witcher 3 enjoyed massive financial success with an incredible amount of copies sold. What I'm actually saying is that it's still very much so a game developed for a far more niche audience than a game like Elden Ring or other triple A games that other developers have the courage to make.

Damn I don't think I agree. With how bad Cyberpunk was (even though I liked it), people might be on high alert with CDPR next offering in 10 years. Especially with how scummy the company has become in recent years.

I agree. Cyberpunk was CDPRS fall from grace. Their reputation as a consumer friendly company was destroyed with Cyberpunk, and that is no doubt going to affect their sales of Witcher 4. That doesn't mean Witcher 4 won't sale however, but I don't think it's going to do that much better than a game that has just as much of a cult following. Souls games are just as popular, if not more so, than Witcher, and Fromsoft is only becoming more popular as a developer, with their reputation still intact.

can someone explain me the gameplay diffference except for combat between any assassins creed and witcher for example? aint it both just hunt the questmarker?

that's true but again people forget how bad the competition was around that time.
the same reason you see everyone praising elden ring. it's by far not a masterpiece and imho a step down from their previous games but there is no competition.
the entire high-budget scene has become a joke as of late. we either get open world games or exclusives that are bound to a single platform which also mostly consist of open world games.

I enjoyed the story in Witcher 3, sans the part that almost every common citizen was about as bright as a pack of used matchsticks, but the combat system bored me to death and eventually made me quit relatively early.
