Same applies to Draconic Tree Sentinel, where the only real danger is the lightning if you mistime it, the slam and Fireball. The latter is easy to bait/follow up on if you already know the fight.
same for me I hate the mounted combat in this game
I think the design intent for the first Tree Sentinel was for players to fight him when they step out of the first dungeon --> get bodied --> avoid him --> get Torrent --> come back --> beat him.
Using hit and run tactics on Torrent is much easier than fighting TS (the first one, at least) while grounded imo.
He only becomes difficult when you are far away because of his fireball/lightning attack tracking.
Ironically keeping up close and beating his ass is the safest thing to do.
The regular Tree Sentinel is not that hard anymore imo. I can beat him straight up level 1 and unupgraded weapon, maybe not first try, but not many.I think, they made him less health or less defence or such. In Version 1.00, he was really hard, though
This is everything in the game unless you flask/perfume at RL1; that being said if i did RL1 DTS I would probably opt to one shot or cheese because I'm not a masochist but at normal levels at normal progression DTS isn't much of an obstacle as it is spectacle.
I'm RL1 at Maliketh and DTS was one of the toughest encounter so far. Esp. the lighting damage is tough. I know, you can cheese him off the cliff, but I liked to fight regulary and ended up hitless.
In regular game, he is not easy aswell, Not really low tier, imo. F.e. Morgott or Goldfrey is easier. And sewer Mogh is similar.
