Also his hitboxes are really clean, you can avoid some of his attacks by just being near him, bc his hand goes above your hand. Not randomly, i mean you can do that as a part of your strategy. His moves are easily learned.
And yeah, you're going to see that a lot.
Edit. IIRC I found it best to stay close to him on his horses flank as the majority of his attacks missed there. I might be misremembering tho.
bosses and most enemies input read in this game btw, be careful about attacking enemies during combos or they'll cheat and extend them "randomly"
