How hard is Tree Sentinel compared to the other bosses?

I have to ask because his moves are ♥♥♥♥♥♥! There is no reasonableness to them in terms of timing, when he uses them, their hitbox, angle etc.

If every boss is constructed like this it's not worth playing because you can't learn moves that don't function consistenly.

Inhale that horse booty and you'll be fine. Except for that move where he shield bashes the ground, you gotta jump over that if you're too close.

He's somewhere mid i guess. He's easy in general, his attacks have very easy timings. If you have that much trouble against him, you'll either have to git gud, or you're f-ed.

Also his hitboxes are really clean, you can avoid some of his attacks by just being near him, bc his hand goes above your hand. Not randomly, i mean you can do that as a part of your strategy. His moves are easily learned.

They do function consistently, the timing on bosses is just like that in this game.

And yeah, you're going to see that a lot.

Get a 100% physical shield and just be patient. You'll begin to find his moves predictable and telegraphed.

Tree sentinel is probably the second hardest boss in Limgrave, and he is there to teach you that its okay to go exploring and come back stronger. But it is certainly possible to beat him at level 1 if you learn his timings and moves. The hardest boss in the limgrave area is Margit, who is there as a final exam kind of thing.

Edit. IIRC I found it best to stay close to him on his horses flank as the majority of his attacks missed there. I might be misremembering tho.

most of his moves are pretty well telegraphed outside of the fast overhead and the horse shoulder check, both of which you're just going to have to trial-and-error learn what positioning and inputs provoke them
bosses and most enemies input read in this game btw, be careful about attacking enemies during combos or they'll cheat and extend them "randomly"

I beat Margit in 2 tries, Godrick in 9 and Crucible Knight on the first try. Tree Sentinel must have taken me 30 tries.

I miss read the title. Thought it said Tree Avatar. That said this guy is one of the easier ones. Learn his blind spots hit him with melee/melee spells.

Upgrade your weapons and use summons to get aggro, especially if you're a mage build. Once summons die, just run around him and avoid his halberd attacks and shield bash. Take care not to get too greedy with attacks. 1,2 and avoid attack by dashing with Torrent; rinse and repeat.
