Subterranean Shunning Grounds... what the hell?

This area is just awful, it's a complete rats nest of pipes and tunnels and holes into other pipes and tunnels, and it all looks the GOD. DАMN. SAME! How the hell are you supposed to navigate this place? And the problem isn't just the geography of the place.
It's just that the sons of b- of the developers decided to throw at you all of the most annoying, stupid and overpowered enemies in that place and behind every corner of that maze that the game has to offer lol. I guess I could use rainbow stones but that doesn't solve the other problem with this area, every enemy hits like a truck and tanks multiple hits, and tends to swarm you in tight corridors. This area is like Blight Town with way more confusing navigation but scaled up to Archdragon Peak's difficulty, and it's just awful.

Given the amount of secret's buried within that was easily one of my favorite areas in the game.

be thankful its fps doesnt hit 3 like blighttown and atleast gravity isnt everywhere. like blighttown.

♥♥♥♥ these fat bastards enemies tough and ♥♥♥♥ THAT LOBSTER SNIPE attack. like holy hell that ACCURACY. these things have better aim than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ablinauric archers. it makes no sense.

no? it might be a re-skin but there's a lot behind doing that fight, including the Erdtree's Favour +1, the strongest shield in the game and an entire ending (it's the outright Bad End where you destroy the world, but that's still an ending)

That shield is locked by the most difficult platforming in the game though so dunno if it's worth it.

Up your damage reduction (40% worked for me) and have atleast 40 vigor, as you work your way through it you'll gradually open up skips and doors making it easier, I found it a fun exploration.

Or, just look up a guide if you are totally turned around and lost I guess.

it's 100% worth it if you're trying to make people really angry in PvP, judging by the threads I've seen complaining about "unbeatable" shield poke builds~
otherwise it's the ultimate greatshield, to my understanding the difference between it and the next-best option is significant enough that it probably is actually worthwhile for mega tortoise tank builds.

Well Im using ugs and they seem to be staggered with each hit so they weren't too hard for me. Those crawfishes on the other hand are a nightmare lol

I'm in the middle of this area right now and this is the first time while playing this game that I wish I was doing something else. They should rework this, it's too big a pain in the ass and not fun.

I like how it has a central grace point. Really nice to have a Dark Souls 1 type area with places rotate back to a starting area with shortcuts.
