and parrying is a viable option but why should you have to be so much better than these people when they can just spam left mouse button to win. dark souls 3 didn't have this problem nearly as bad.
DS3 had the painting guardian CS infinite L2 loop. Infinite until you ran out of FP, but it was a true combo from start to death as long as the player timed the stun correctly. And DS2 had issues with players spamming running R1s from katanas with hitboxes the size of the side of a barn. But yes, in terms of scale, ER takes it to a whole new level. At least with the PGCS you could dodge the initial hit, or it just ends quickly. And DS2 katanas you could just roll each time. There's many things that need to be reworked here (like most ashes of war are only equippable on certain weapon types, Bloodhound's step should really only be equippable on daggers, not colossal weapons FFS).
it's a full priced game, it's reasonable to complain if it isn't polished
