This leads to things like hiding behind the pillars of his zone, but then you just allow his full aggro to cap out the other person. It's not a easy one, though I beat it twice thanks to distraction factor like right off the bat without practice.
If you wanna take it down, you need to have high vigor (30+) in order to not be oneshot when you make a single mistake ; and as usual get used to his pattern.
Keep your distances when he attacks, time your rolls accordingly, only attack when it's safe and don't be greedy on the damage dealing ; then you'll be fine.
When I fought him I took off 3k of his HP at the start with flame grant me strength + fire boost physick + queen's black flame.
Also, in my opinion they make him very hard on purpose because leaving him alive ends up being useful if you are progressing the quest of the NPC behind him. It's also a way of them letting the player know you are in a very high level area if you end up there from the waygate you can access early on.
Blackfire is just fire damage and same for the DoT; he does have a lot of fire resist it just depends how much you crank up your damage on top of how much HP they have and kindred has like 12.5k.
All the gargoyle's are weak to strike/magic but resist everything else heavily and immune to all status.
I noticed something kind of interesting when I did that. It would attack where I just was, and it basically started missing me with everything. Horse makes a lot of fights easier, but usually you at least have to like back up when an enemy starts swinging, or get off to be able to dodge at close range. The black blade kindred just straight up missed me if I simply walked up to it.
Its something I kind of noticed even with all the other gargoyles you can't use horse for. If you're right under their feet, a lot of times they just don't hit you, or swing past you at nothing. Its just they'll move around enough you can't sit under their feet if you don't have a horse.
I ended up dropping the horse and just luring it away from the stairs after realizing it just straight up couldn't fight me if I was able to close in fast. But if you want to beat him easily and don't care what trivializes the fight, just walk around its attacks on horse. It seriously just starts swinging at nothing so you can basically sit there attacking off cd.
