Haligtree before Fire Giant?

Im curious about quest lines - should I do Haligtree area BEFORE killing the fire giant? There's something in the game walkthroughs that says using the "needle" will help avert the Frenzy ending or some such...I assume the "needle" is part of Millicent questline that concludes in Haligtree and thus I should complete that first?

the needle is used to remove the frenzied flame effect if you got it in lyndell underground. the needle can only be used in an area after fire giant so wether you do haligtree or fire giant first doesnt matter.

The only quests tied to Haligtree iirc is the Millicent questline which grants you the needle. However, you can do that quest at almost any point in the game. Hell, even after I got an ending I went back and did it (but if you touched the 3 fingers and want to avoid the frenzied ending you need to get it anytime before the final boss iirc). As for Haligtree dungeon itself, it is so brutal difficulty wise, hardest content in the game. Definitely be over level 100 for it.

yeah Haligtree this one's a beast. rolling is deadly in the trees :D and you've got all sorts of mobs up there..
