How do i beat astel of darkness bs grab?

It’s impossible to avoid getting grabbed and insta killed, he spawns like 50 clones that grab all over arena and dodging doesn’t help. How do i win? Im playing a mage build

Pray and roll.
Stars of darkness is a cancerous dude.
Cloning and teleporting, not even close the easy lore version "Natural born of the void".
I think the former is the one who destroyed the Nok civilization, and then forgot one of is decoys (natural born of the void) in the underground.

Yeah, I thought Astro was pretty frustrating. I had absolutely no problem with any of his other attacks, then he’d one shot me with a grab.

Once you figure out how to dodge the grab, it’s a really easy fight.

it's pure rng as sometimes even with perfect play you just can't out maneuver its range and especially the camera if it decides to crap on you at that particular time.

it's an issue with many late game huge bosses unfortunately.

I just want to say, in case there's still someone out there that doesn't know, you can break free or reduce grab attacks damage by mashing your light and strong attacks. It used to be only your right hand's attacks and apparently it's now both hands (some even say face buttons on controllers work too, but I doubt it) and you can actually see it work with an abductor virgin.

Oh nice, would that work on astels grab though?

I went to this fight with more than 2,000 HP... his Naruto Shadow Jutsu Ceiling BS Grab deals more than 2k HP.
Tried to break early, I gotta be doing something wrong because it still killed me.

Faith build(60 FAITH), switched to my sword and went melee through the whole fight. Didnt trigger his:
Patented TradeMark Pending Naruto Shadow Jutsu Ceiling BS Grab.

Killed him.
