Mountaintop of the giants

Why? Why does this exist? I have done pretty much everything else in the game upto this point, and I am getting 2 shotted by literally everything? My Vigor is a level 40, and I wear the Radahn armor, and yet it's not enough. What else am I supposed to do? I have died more times to the fire giant than any other boss tbh. And the Sol castle? Am I missing something? Is level 80 underlevelled for this area? Somebody help me out here please.

Sorry, late to the party and not going to read 4 pages but I do wanna ask what build you playing and whats all the stuff you have cleared? Not trying to dunk, trying to help cause I wonder if you are missing areas or lost a lot of runes? Mountain top is not as bad as everyone claims it to be size and emptyness wise, it does have cool bosses but you are right, things hit stupid hard around that area.

I do assume this is your first play through but idk if you looked up any guides or anything cause you should easily be around level 100+ once you get to this area.
