Just lost a 1 year relationship with my girlfriend because of elden ring

Kept ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about me not putting much effort in our relationship and for a time she understood my gaming addiction and put up with me playing for almost 500 hours and just as I was starting to feel the burn from the game and slowly coming out from the grave of a burn out, she then dumps me.

I'm too old and jaded to say all that lovey dovey ♥♥♥♥ to convince her i loved her. Gaming has been a passion of mine for long time so it's somewhat a priority of human relationships but we did some amazing things together. But no value was lost. She was the only girl i thought who would of stayed with me in my mid thirties. I felt like was a different man before Elden Ring. But I guess she's too immature to understand a man's passion.

Relationships are great when they work and are ment to work, it takes effort from both sides to adjust and develop yourself a little, but you shouldn't lose yourself or want the other to change themselves completely.

I understand you have formed your opinion based on what your friends seem to say, but i on the other hand have seen both well functioning relationships which last until death and poorly functioning ones which do indeed leach eachother's energy.

You can't just find a random woman who you get into a relationship and expect it to always be a dream, life is not Disney and it takes effort and a good connection imo.

I wouldn't want kids just yet but i definitely am willing to sacrifice the "me-time" at some point to create a family.

This is largely a single player game, you wildly overprioritised vidya over her, no wonder she left. Its easy to enjoy your personal time in your 30s and 40s and even if you have kids, wish you didnt, but when you're older, thats when the regrets really set it, when you can't change anything anymore.

Thanks, my guy. I'm never going to let anything interfere with my passion. Thing is i made time in for her as time allowed me but my efforts weren't enough for her. I told her I can straddle the line and talk to her in small spurts while gaming at the same time and i did. Imagine working 12 hours night shift and coming back home in the morning to sleep and her whining about me not paying any attention to her that entire day. Combine that with gaming, as well.
