About 300 hours in now

Over all have genuinely enjoyed most of the Game. Despite the horribly broken PvP, I've had some great duels. Despite the disconnects, I've enjoyed some Co-op. Despite the easy bosses, I've enjoyed the combat. Despite the convolution, I've enjoyed the lore.

But the Aesthetic... I can't take anymore and I need to scream into the void.

Every single outfit is some idiotic design from an anime fanboy. There are maybe 3 armors in this entire game that actually look decent.

Every single good weapon is some non-functional crap that would never work as a weapon or had to have some stupid fantasy look to make them "cool" and they all look stupid and childish.

Dozens of idiotic enemies that look like they were designed by a child. Morbidly Obese Nobles wearing skin, Giant guy riding a tiny horse, Fat aliens, Marshmallow horniest, Noble knights from each Kingdom given the dumbest possible tournament Jousting helmet ever designed. The list goes on.

And to top it all off everything is about Fingers. Who actually sat down and thought to them selves "In this destroyed land with epic monsters, dragons, demons and death and despair lets make everything about FINGERS!" Literal depiction of God? "A pair of decrepit fingers!" Other noble players? "we'll call them furled fingers!" Seriously this is the dumbest most childish crap anyone at From ever came up with.

Dark souls has always had silly crap, but it also had awesome and epic enemies, Amazing sets of armor, and really cool looking weapons. That whole Aesthetic is basically entirely gone with Elden ring, and THAT has been the biggest disappointment about this game. Yes, some of the environments are great, but that's about it.

If you actually read this far, thank you for listening I just needed to get that out of my system and into the void.

I disagree, I like all the wacky stuff. What I don't like is that the game takes place in a medieval fantasy world for the 5th time now, pretty boring.

Despite being based on Western more than Eastern fantasy, I agree a lot of it is very animeish. I guess it wouldn't be a Fromsoft game without weapons bigger than the player and armors that make you look fat. Then there's stuff that seems purposely designed for meme value, like the jar helmet or the ringed finger weapon. I did find a couple of nice armors and weapons, though.

Regarding the Fingers, I did get a chuckle when meeting them the first time. I thought all the finger talk was metaphorical, but then it's actually two giant fingers... like WTF.

Anyways ignoring that, just don’t get what supposed represent with whole horse thing, looks aesthetically ridiculous and not helped by jank animations have him hovering above it all the time.

I dunno, just feel like overall FROM capable of much better visual designs than did for this game, feels like a mosh of diff cultural influences, anime tropes and recycled FROM bosses from past.

I mean some of the environments are absolutely beautiful. Even Caelid has a nice appeal. but yeah...

That's... the point?

If you haven't noticed yet all of FromSoftware's game's are Hyper-Anime nonsense, usually with a heavy amount of references to Berserk.

People complaining about Anime things in Hyper-Anime games is baffling to me.

Comparing the game to previous titles isn't a point.
Comparing a Dragon to a Marshmallow man isn't a point
Comparing previous armor and weapon designs isn't a point.
Opening my statement by talking about the things i DID enjoy. Isn't a point.
