Respec for Malenia
Hello everyone

Just wondering I am planning to respec from my Strength/Greatsword build to something that can beat Malenia and wanted to know which build is best
- Mage Build with around 60 INT. I have a +9 carian regal staff from the Renalla boss fight
or
- arcane/bleed build with rivers of blood
*Also note one disadvantage I have is I that I already beat the game and was not able to do Rannis questline, so was not able to get the bell bearings to upgrade my mimic to +10.
If anyone has any other ideas for possible builds would really like to hear suggestions as well.

Tank build + Blood Hookclaws with Bloodhound Step Ash of war for the crazy move

50-60 vigor
~35 endurance (for the Bull Goat set, talisman weight)
Min Str/Dex for hookclaws
rest Arcane to increase bleed build up
Talismans: Greatjar Arsenal + Lord of Blood's Exultation + Millicent's Prosthesis + Dragoncrest Shield Talisman

Thanks for the suggestion. In the end i went with Rivers of Blood with arcane and dex. Still though thank you.

I used DEX bleed with 20 Arcane to equip Rivers of Blood. This was pre-1.03 when Rivers of Blood didn't scale, but even now it's a DEX primary weapon. My Melania easy mode star was to go in with Rivers of Blood Main-hand and Blood Uchi +25 Bloodhound Step offhand, use Mimic tear and switch hands so that Mimic (which lack the AI to use Bloodhand Step Effectively) had Corpse Piler for extra damage and I had Bloodhound Step to evade Waterfowl Dance and Rot Bloom. Though again pre-1.03 Blood Uchi +25 had much higher AR than Rivers of Blood due to the scaling bug, and Mimic Tear got a damage nerf so this is probably less effective now. That said I'm still using Rivers of Blood at 50 DEX 20 ARC and it's base AR is higher than my Hand of Melania and it's FAR more effective unless I'm fighting enemies that are Fire and/or Blood resistant.

If you're resorting to cheap range with little risk and high reward then you may as well summon ash mimic with Maliketh's sword.

We just kept draining her max health then gang banged her. That sword is nuts.

50 vigor. 30 endurance. Pump strength (70+) and have the faith to use the sword.

theres the black knife assassin spirit ash that has the same ability if you want to mix it up too

Yep. I've yet to get that one actually. New game plus three and it requires unlock a lot of the underground.

The ash spirit can drian max health, but they're also squishy. Good at dodging though. Can put the mimic in some good armor (and it does reduce damage by half for me when I wear it).

Only half? Just with Golden Vow and Protection of Black Flame, my physical negation is at 66% -- and that's in medium armor. With heavy armor or Ironjar Aromatic or both, you can have crazy high negation.

Thanks for the detailed suggestions everyone. Much appreciated.

I just kill Malenia with pure STR. Used 22 handed Bloodhound´s Fang +10. For me Malenia was the thoughest boss. If you have, you could use some frostbite consumable.
Good luck!

Respec to VGR/MND/DEX/INT 55/55/75/75, activate Godrick's rune to get +5 on all Attributes, get Dark Moon, Mimic Tear +10, hit every buff you have, summon mimic tear, and shoot Dark Moons over and over and freeze her. Then hit her with dual katanas.

When she phase changes, you have to lock back on to her and then continue casting Dark Moons and dodging her when she targets you.

Easy clear. Super easy.

If you have seppuku, make another one and you can just kill her with that. No need to respec.
If you feel like respeccing anyways, dex/arcane (bleed) is bonkers atm and especially strong against her.
Tiche is fine as spirit ash, but anything aggressive will work.
