Planning to respec from a pure strength build to a mage. Any tips ?
Have been playing a pure strength build for 80+ hours with the grafted greatsword and it's becoming boring now. So I'm planning to respec as a mage build but have no idea how to distribute my stats and would appreciate some tips.

I am approx level 80. I have 0 knowledge of mage builds and their stats and not sure wether i should do a semi build of weapon and magic as well. If there is a way to have a build where I can try out just pure magic and can also integrate magic based weapons as well then that would be great.

I don't think you really need the advice mate. Seems like you have an outline of what you want already just make sure not to neglect your vigor or else you will be too much of a glass cannon.

You can do a pure mage, or you can keep a staff in your off hand with an int-based weapon in your right hand.

I actually like using a Magic Uchigatana with Bloodhound Step on it for challenges like Malenia and the final boss, and you can still fire off spells. Alternatively, you can put Lusat's or Azur's Staff in your left hand with a different one in your right without FP costs skyrocketing (unless this was patched, I don't believe it was though).

Some people like using the Moonveil, others like using the Dark Moon Great Sword with its powerful strong attacks after using its weapon arts. Anything you're comfortable with that scales with Int will work if you want to use a weapon.

Best staves I've found are: Carian Glintblade Staff if you have <60 Int. Boosts the Glintblade spells which the one that shoots a sword is actually super helpful (enemies that dodge spells will dodge on cast, not when the sword shoots. It's hilarious and effective). 60+ Int you probably want the Carian Regal Scepter from Rennala because it scales much higher. After that, Azur's and Lusat's make FP costs higher but the former raises cast speed while the latter gives a 10% damage buff and even higher FP costs.

Glintstone Pebble is still the most mana efficient spell, but it doesn't have the damage of something like Stars of Ruin, the range of Loretta's Greatbow, or the stagger-inducing AoE of Adula's Moonblade.
