this game is way too long
its tedious n many times i jus get bored. luckily, theres multiplayer, so i can summon n be summoned to alleviate that.. but that brings up new frustrations in disconnects or CtD.

im still findin ♥♥♥♥ i missed as i go bak to older areas... n i still didnt even finish giant land. got to a telescope, checked the area... n theres still so much more.

i dont even wanna do ng+, its gonna be way too tedious to get all those summon pools again. i genuinely hope they dont continue down this road... but considerin how they stuck to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dks2 style enemy design n placement, i wouldnt be surprised if every FROM game from now on is open world.

thanks game urinalists.

A FromSoftware Game can´t be to long.

That's too bad. I'm having a blast personally even at 90 hours in. Played every soulsborne thus far and this takes the cake for me.

i prefer the older dark souls/demons souls/bloodborne style. game aint too long, rather rly dense, n promotes replayability.

those games were fun to replay, since it gets easier n faster. dks2 n 3 lost that.. 3 only due to its linearity... n elden ring is way too bloated. fatigue creeps on u.

it's a good amount of time 100 hours for a game is good

20 would make sense if it was $30-40 so i'm not sure if it would have the same playerbase if it was that short.

you can complete elden ring in 30 hours average if you only follow the main route.

100 hours for a complete playthrough is if you do EVERYTHING.

i'm on ng+ after 90 hours myself will hit all achieves by 100 easily.

I feel this. I basically wanted the game to be over once I hit about 60 hours (I have more hours on my playtime because I spent a lot of time idling, and I restarted after hitting Leyndell the first time). Still took me another 20 hours to finish what I wanted to finish and get an ending.

NG+ is a breeze, though. Knowing where everything is and not bothering with side content because you already own everything means you can blaze through the main stuff in record time. I got from the starting cave all the way to Morgott and the Elden Tree ****block in just a couple of hours.

I was going to go back and fight the last few bosses I missed, but I'm officially burnt out. Not putting the game down for it; I'd much rather a game be too long than too short if it's trying to be open world. I usually don't finish open world games at all. *shrug*

Same, and totally agree. I mean if you combined Dark Souls and Breath of the Wild you would get exactly this game. I can't even believe From made something like this, I did not expect it at all.

It's pretty long. Still on my first playthrough... but I like to get at least 90% completion on all of my games, just to be sure I consumed most of the content available to me.

I went straight to Caelid after Limgrave. That... took a while. Then I was exploring around Liurnia before entering the Raya Lucaria academy and ran into Ranni so I did Ranni's questline. Then I did Fia's and D's quests.

I'm just now tackling Altus and Leyndell and I'm at 150 hours already, making sure I discover at least 90% of points of interest in each area before I move on...

Yeah, game is effin' huge. I'm not complaining, but I doubt I'll do a second run. It's just too time consuming for an adult with a job.

I think the game and it's world could benefit from being smaller. I don't care how big the world is nor find it impressive when I'm fighting another Demi-human Queen, Erdtree Avatar, Tree Spirit, or Big Horse Guy. It also doesn't help that a lot of items are pretty useless, so going off to kill a repeat boss often doesn't give you a reward worth your time.

Apparently not, if there are people beating it in 40 hours or so.

I don't see how this is like BOTW at all. It has a lot less charm, far fewer puzzles, and far fewer side activities. The only commonality would be the open-world nature of the games.

The gameplay loop of walking in a random direction and exploring a cookie-cutter dungeon while talking to absolutely no one is pretty much the same between the two games. I got BotW vibes playing this, too.
