Ton's of little issues like, the Briar armor looks nice and all but there is literally a piece on your left arm that just clips straight through any shield, for example.
The amount of full body plate is laughable. A lot of sets that would be amazing just have open helmets you can't close because Armor Altering is a joke, and then you have the NPC Knight sets that are just ruined by a stupid ass jousting shield on your chest and a goofy ass helmet. Not to mention they are incredibly difficult to find a helmet option that works with them. It's cool if you like the barbarian look, but I would love armor that had sleeves and didn't look stupid as hell? For some reason the Raptor Hood is the only good masked hood in the game because, for some reason they made the actual masked black hood big as ♥♥♥♥ and look silly? Oh but ♥♥♥♥ me because Raptor Hood has a weird coloring, and this weird cloth around the neck that seems to override tons of sets making it have this out of place light clay color around your neck, RIP using it with the black knife set.
And don't even get me started on the Exile soldier set. Those dudes are so skinny the set looks cool on them, but when I wear it I look like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ babushka. Maliketh's so skinny and lanky his set looks badass but when I wear it I look like I never missed chest day but I have chicken legs. Plus the stupid hair helmets. I swear mfs see Radahn, cream themselves, and just think that mediocre set is the peak of fashion. I don't think I've ever seen someone not use a meme ass set in their Elden Bling. The Saving grace in this game is the fingerprint set, The Cleanrot set if you can get past the helmet's goofy bars, The Crucible Axe Set, and the Scaled Set with a different helmet if you can find one (The Greathelm works alright with it.)
Fromsoft latest games have always been dumped down
It also very much follows the RPG rule that the better armour is, the dumber it looks. I'm looking at you, Bullgoat!
but there is a game full of weapons/items/armor to play how you want to play. you don't need to one-shot every boss. you don't need to kill a hosts boss within 5 seconds of entering the fog. it's an rpg. you're able to mold your character within the games rules. you have many options if you don't allow yourself to fall into meta.
