Uhl palace ruins question
I've reached the palace ruins through the ainsel river. I reached the main section of ruins where the hermit merchant is and killed everything there including the giant bat thing that hurls rocks.
I can see on the other side of the ravine a way to get to the second story of the ruins where the bat was, but I can't figure out how to get to the other side of the ravine. Does anyone know how?

You can access that only by doing Ranni's questline, or taking a coffin from Deeproot.

If you're talking about what I think you are, then you can't until after progressing Ranni's questline quite far and reaching Ainsel River Main from another place.

It is required for the chest behind her, yes.
