Why do people say this game has bad graphics?

I think it looks beautiful. Maybe I never had a monster PC running 4K so I don't know what good graphics is supposed to be like.

most graphics complaints were from reddit months ago when people saw some grainy ass pre release ps4 footage and overreacted. i haven't heard much about graphics since, in general, if im being honest. game looks about as good as most people would have expected

the game have old graphics but have one of the greatest artistic direction

this game use a modified version of the engine of the first dark souls thats why the security exploit is still a thing and they added the useless EAC that fixed nothing and make the game worse and this engine is very limited have more than 10 years from soft are masters of copy paste assets and don´t invest on fixes on the core of the engine or invest on a new generation engine

i complain because they never fixed on these 10+ years the security issues and instead of fixed it for ER they added EAC the worst kernel malware performance eater of the maket that don´t stop cheaters in any game just look at apex or fornite both use EAC and both are filled with cheaters using cronus zen or ESPs-radars and more without detect
on ER is even worse because EAC is banning legit players for have corrupted files by cheaters forces a native dx 11 game run worse on dx 12 and make the performance worse

Agree, the quality of the game is a reflection of your computer, didnt know you managed to build a computer with fertilizer. You have my utmost respect.

Art direction and graphics aren't the same thing. The design is good, but the graphics themselves sometimes look last-gen, including low-poly models, blurry textures etc. They're a holdover from the Dark Souls days and use the same engine, as has been mentioned.

Look at Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn (and Forbidden West), Ghost of Tsushima, AC Origins onward, etc., for comparison.

The game is VERY core intensive. Anything less than a modern 8 core will struggle to keep a consistent 60 in most areas. Despite a worse GPU, my laptop manages better performance thanks to it's ryzen 7 4800h. My 3600 desktop struggle to hit 50fps in certain parts of limgrave and liurnia.

Because to some people getting an A- is a failure.

Just because something is the best does not mean that something 5-10% worse is not also amazing. But people like to equate "not the best" as garbage.

Also, Elden Ring gets criticized for its NPC facial movements while they speak. To that, I say lol. Adds to the creepy factor when they speak the way they do, especially Albus.

I could be wrong about this, but I think Red Dead Redemption 2 is supposed to be the current pinnacle of gaming. And if you take a look, it does look like another tier better than Elden Ring.
