Save Backup not working
OK so I wanted to get all 3 achievement endings. After the final boss I used steam to create a save backup. Did the age of stars ending, went to restore the backup thru steam aaaaand it does nothing. Is there ANYTHING I can do to restore the backup? I've tried turning off cloud sync and restoring the backup I made but still no luck. I'll do NG+ if I have to but I won't be happy about it

You go to %appdata% in your file explorer, find the Elden Ring folder and do a manual backup. Just save the copy of the whole folder on your desktop or wherever. Beat the game, get the achievement and then copy the old folder from your desktop back to %appdata% folder.

Also to add, you don't need to copy the whole folder actually. The save is just that one file called ER000.sl2. So you can just copy that and replace it once you beat the game. If you have steam cloud saves on the game should ask you what save file you want to load in, the older one or the new (online) one and you pick the old one since thats your old save. If you turn steam cloud off then it will just load your old file and no problems.

So it's too late for me then? The steam backup I already made is useless?

I don't really know what steam backup does but the only way to change your save file is by doing it manually like this. If you already beat the game and you don't have an old manual save file saved somewhere then there is nothing you can do to reverse it.

If you only want to get the ending achievements then the best choice is to just get someone elses save file. There is plenty of people online giving their save files just for getting the different ending achievements (I think you can find it in steam guides here as well). Just make sure to save a copy of your original save file so that you can replace it back after getting the dfferent endings with someone elses saves.
