Done after this glitch I can't play anymore

After working up to having over 1mil souls and was saving up for a specific reason and was getting ready to spend them, on my way to the site of grace I was invaded. I was then killed while invaded, respawned, went back to my body and all that was left was 300 souls. All the souls I earned gone, lost! If I had lost them because of any other reason than what appears to be a glitch it would be my fault but this is def a glitch.
To make it all worse you can't link your steam account to Bandai so you can't put a request in for support for this game on their site. Or else I am just totally missing it because asperburgers is on 200 right now.

Sorry for your loss. Probably someone can help you out and drop you some souls. I recommend tho making frequent local backups so you can minimize the risk of losing too much progress if anything else unfortunate were to happen.

also curious to this. 1mill is alot. and why didnt you just fast travel back to the grace instead of running?

Tbh this is a good question, you can only get invaded when cooping, and if you're cooping you cant rest at grace sites anyway. If OP wasn't cooping then the only way OP was invaded was if they summoned the invader using their sign. Idk anyone that farms runes in coop as the host, that's super inefficient, and if OP was summoned then they wouldn't have lost anything from dying to the invader. OP's post isn't adding up unless I'm smol brain.

And to add on, I have about 200~ hours in the game and have died many many times in various ways but never gotten the incorrect amount or runes back. Not saying the bug doesn't exist because I personally haven't experienced it but...

I was saving up for a specific leveling, item purchase and upgrades purchase combos. So yea it isn't everyones playing style and had I lost them due to dieing in a normal fight and then dieing again sure yea my loss fair game YEA DARK SOULS! But NO this was not normal at all, I was traveling to the Site of Grace and was invaded while on the way. I was killed by the invader and respawned, ported back to the nearest grace near my death and mounted the horse to collect my souls. Get there collect them and only 300 returned.

I don't want anything "returned" to me. Since I had no sane way to report it to the game company because I can't link steam on their site to say I have the game, I figured I would post here. I don't want free s*** but I would like it looked into so that it can be fixed so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Also if I choose to stack up souls for series of levels, spells, upgrades and item purchases than that is my choice. So save the criticizing how someone plays for somewhere else. This was more a less HEY THIS HAPPENED in hopes that someone at Bandai would see it and take a look to make sure that it isn't something that is recurring.

So thanks for the comment I marked as the answer and to everyone else question my play style, motives or outright calling me a liar can go pound salt. Some of us have better things to do with our time than try to cheat in a game, but heh what do I know I am just a lowley aspiring Game Dev, trying to be helpful.

Just look up the best rune farming method atm. Getting 1 Million doesn't take very long.

Not calling you a cheater, just that the way you died doesn't make sense. You can't be invaded unless you were cooping or chose to summon the invader - and if you were cooping then even if you went to a grace site you wouldn't have been able to rest and use the runes so that's also confusing.

Anyway, if you have steam cloud enabled it might be worth checking if you have a backup of a save before this happened.

EDIT: Completely forgot about the NPC invaders, if you were killed by one of those then I apologize for the suspicion

How were you invaded? were you co-oping, or did you summon a deuelist? - there are some inconsistencies in your story that requires some clarification. Is it possible that the invader was a scripted event? as for your runes - dude - there is no shortage of runes in the game, you had a minor setback, just go and farm some runes.

As far as I know I wasn't cooping because it was just me in the world playing. So it had to be a scripted one. IDK the invading confuses me still. Friend showed me where to farm and I got my runes built back up and did what I wanted to do. So IDK what happened but it totally was weird as hell.

Bud, I think the larger takeaway here is that you need to spend those runes on your character stats when you have them rather than relying on the whims of a buggy game to preserve them. Sorry you got burned.
