How do resistances work?
For example a shield with 100phys makes you immune while blocking.

Is this the same with other gear? for example gloves, armor gives you small amount of resistances. With crappy shield and amazing gear can you become immune to damage? or armor and shield resistances doesnt stack up?

Like shield gives you 75magic resist and if you get gear 25resists magic does that make you magic immune?

how does that work?

When you block with something, the damage is first reduced by a percentage; this is the block rating of the shield. A 100% physical resistance shield, for example, will block all physical damage.

The now reduced damage is then applied to your character like that of a normal attack. it is first reduced by flat defence through a formula that is probably needlessly complex again, and is then reduced by your own absorption percentage.

Basically, if you have 75% block on the shield and 25% absorption on your armor, they don't stack and absorb 100% of the damage. Instead, you reduce the damage by 75% with the shield, and then reduce what's left by 25% via the armor.

Shields are like a body armour, the shield takes priority damage then your resistances reduce the damage that went through the shield.

Also they changed the "Stability" stat name to "Boos". The higher that is the less ♥♥♥♥ your stamina loss when blocking is.

And, while this mostly only matters against trash fodder enemies. Greatshields have more light attack types "bounce" off you, instead of letting the enemy keep swinging their spam combo against your shield until they are done.

But again, that is not really gonna be a thing for bosses. Mostly "Haha idiot soldier with a longsword bounced"
