If you used a cheesy rune exploit to get high level...
You didn't really beat the game.

If the "exploit" is in the game, and hasn't been patched, then it's not an "exploit." It's the game.

although i don't care what people do, this is not in the least correct. exploits are bugs or a gameplay mechanic that is unintended. It will get patched but between now and the patch which could take weeks, it now stands as an exploit.

In DS1, there was a place called Darkroot Garden. Players quickly discovered (1) there were mobs there with high soul values and (2) if you stood on a certain ledge, the AI would perform a jumping attack and jump them into a chasm. Players could easily get to level 80 - 100 after a short time in the game. This was never patched. It works to this day.

It's a gameplay mechanic. It still exists. Therefore it's "intended." Same with soul farming spots currently in Elden Ring. We'll know if they were "intended" only if they are patched.

If you didn't play SL1, no armor, no weapons, no items, no talismans, 100%, and finish all of that in under an hour, you didn't really beat the game

If you are not playing a primarily single player PvE game like it is a subscription based MMO trying to squeeze your for time sinks, maybe you should go back to world of warcraft!

Except people really think that way, it is so sad the people most likley to think "Go back to world of warcraft/call of duty" is a slam dunk insult, are the ones most likely to want the game to be just like WoW/CoD.

If you used hoarfrost stomp to get to high level... you didn't really beat the game
If you used bloody slash to get to high level... you didn't really beat the game
If you used sword of night and flame to get to high level... you didn't really beat the game
If you used X weapon I find too strong to get to high level... you didn't really beat the game
....repeat until you list every weapon and spell in the game
