they come in packs m8 sometimes 6 of them at once. so far the only way i've been able to somewhat deal with them is by using the weapon art from Mohgwyn's sacred spear, but if one of them survives and i don't spot it, it jumps me from behind and just necks me in 1 hit.
like, how is one suppose to deal with 6 dogs that all have the ability to one-shot regardless of armor, without using any sort of cheese?
besides, you can't range pull them because they are sitting on elevated platforms (rocks) which means you can't see them, let alone aim at them from afar.
The weapon drag ( no lock-on) mostly does the trick, and Torrent is fast enough to get away before getting hit ( or can just jump).
The npc invasions may dismount you though, so that sucks, so don't cross the border that triggers it, or deal with that first. Got me good a couple of times.
running around on the horse aggros the big birds which constantly catch you even on horseback. so far my tactic has been to deal with the birds and then go for the dogs, and its pretty frustrating since the birds aren't exactly super easy to take down and once i've done it i just get 1 popped by some dog that sneaked up on me from behind
yeah that's what's confusing me, like no enemy in the game, except maybe Radahn's meteor (before he was nerfed), have one-shotted me so far, and these dogs just casually walk up to me then give me a grim stare and i just keel over and die.
it will stop working, when you attack but it may help setup your kills properly.
ah right, thanks for the tip. i suppose maybe i'll try either that or just throw beast repellent pots at them
