PVE: Mage > Dex > STR
PVP: Dex > STR > Mage
Yeah bro this is bad special when you like to play as mele
Souls game always have an "easy" mode?
Melee? Hard mode.
Bow? Medium Mode.
Magic? Easy mode.
Of course elden ring challenges this a bit, since some bosses can counter magic, but apart from that, I dont really think this a problem. As long as I dont fight against other people.
If you kids are still playing solo, your playing it easy mode. Just a heads up :)
Nice joke call me when you beat this boss at level 15
You can also cheese some stuff from range but then again DEX/STR can do that with status arrows and FTH/ARC can do that with incantations.
There is no magic/melee distinction.
Difference in Magic and Mele yes you can do the game easy ,
but no as easy as mage ... on mele to dont get 1 shoot you need to be over level which i hate like
Mage just use spells at half of level and kill the game
Melees have more VIT and all flasks are on healing plus they are able to use more talisman slots.
Mages have to invest in Mind, they have to equip one or two talismans dedicated to magic and they also have to split their flasks to restore FP.
I think it is pretty balanced in that regard, plus in PvP mages can be killed quickly. They shine though in ganks during invasions.
I honestly don't know what this video was supposed to show ? You beat him mostly by parrying his attacks, your spells did less than half of his HP.
Also, magic isn't OP on their own. What makes them really powerful in ER is the fact that you can summon a spirit to take the aggro while you're safely casting and have no pressure.
By the way, people tends to forget that magic was always powerful in Souls games. First Dark Souls' pyromancies were quite OP and later in the DLC, the hexes can destroy bosses. Miracles in DkS2 were OP as hell and remained very good even after the nerf. All school of magic were also powerful in DkS3.
