Morning star is so short it loves to miss even huge targets due to hitbox barriers of "where you can stand vs where the enemy is"
Which is why I switched to the spiked club, which is notably longer... and still loves to miss (Floating away from the back half of my combos did not save you, renalla!), but not as much as a morning star.
Still, I expect the sort of people who whine and cry about crouch attacks will flee in terror at the mere sight of a morning star. Because if I remember right, the morning star crouch attack is a thrusting motion.
