Thoughts on enemies seeing and tracking you through walls?

It sucks but it's always been there. At least you can always quit out to de-aggro if it's causing any problems (like some mob in the stratosphere that you can't even see but is really giving you the death stare, preventing you from warping).

they don't actually "see" you through walls, necessarily. they know where you are for aiming, but if they can't see you they will eventually de-aggro and go to investigate where they last "saw" you.

Every game that has this, it is there to bait you into thinking "I just need to git gud, this game is tough but fair-*smashed through wall because thinking 'tough but fair' does not expect 'shameless wallhax' on gut instinct*

The initial reason is so that the devs of a game have an easier time dealing with clipping errors.

But it is always super insulting when they go out of their way to punish the player for swinging in the same zip code as a box or you walk over a rock and it cancels your attack animation, while an enemy is just sliding around on training wheels.

Well that is just wishful thinking that will get you hit through walls.

for example. bell hunter perfectly no-scopes his flying sword at you if you start the brawl in the hut then leave, and he sticks around in there. even if you circle around the whole house.

Never fall for "No see it isn't cheating it is clearly playing fair", that is how you get smashed in the face and die when you could have lived by expecting "If he could see through walls AND input read, they would attack through a wall right about... now" and wow look at that, you are winning.

Not a fan, but mostly due to how many enemies that have attacks that can actually reach that far AND not being able to aim properly toward the enemy to block.

If the enemy makes an attempt to hit me through a wall / pillar / boulder / mound of dirt, please at least let me maintain the lock for a few seconds longer.

I'm talking specifically about ranged units really. They continue to fire and track you through walls as if they have wall hacks. Making them even more annoying to fight as they instantly know you're closing the distance on them. There are times when even if I'm crouched and far away from a ranged enemy I previously aggroed. They will still continue to fire their weapon directly where I am sitting.

The real fun is watching people defend enemies on an entirely different floor of an area hitting you up through the floor by no clip stabbing your ankles.
