Why nerf the Turtle Shield??
The Barricade Shield Ash of War was already made useless after the update but now the Turtle Shield itself has also been nerfed and I have absolutely no idea why they would do that.
Before the Turtle Shield would give passive stamina regen and had a physical damage block of 100, now the physical damage block is 87 so you get health chip damage even when blocking. Stamina regen in Elden Ring is nowhere near as good in other Souls games so why they nerfed the shield itself is a mystery.

to make it closer to the grass crest shield, I use only the turtle shield but I understand the nerf

Okay that's understandable. Still really sucks that my favorite shield got nerfed.

Yep the turtle shield is pretty much meant to be a decoration on your back :P
It's unfortunate, because it was super nice when it had 100% physical

Yeah, they made it back into what GC was... the shield for people that don't actually use a shield with any regularity. It's a stat stick to get the stam regen if you don't need the off-hand slot for anything else. More balanced this way though, before the nerf it was 2nd best medium shield defensively, lighter than the one better, and had the buff on top. It was the go-to shield for the majority of builds.
They made shields in general stronger too, so the nerf came for some kind of compensation.

So in other words now it's a Shield meant to be worn on the back all the time. Which was probably the intended joke behind it all along.

Because there was basically no reason to use any other medium shield since the turtle shield was just as good while also buffing stamina recovery. Now there's actually a trade off.
