It does suck tho.
beside, the MOST important Factor of an Weapon is Actually the Move set NOT the stats, so if you find an Category of Weapons you like they meit have Different stats and even Move sets, but Upgrading them whit smiting Stones will make an HUGE Difference to a Weapons Strength.
so if you like how an Weapon Feel, you should use that, and not think to much about the Base Stats to much.
through it can be Smart to have an Back up Weapon whit different Bace Damage Types
the Base Damage types are:
1: Standard Damage (think that is Slashing Damage)
2: Strike Damage (or Blunt Damage)
3: Piercing Damage (or Thrust Damage)
having an backup weapon of the appropriate type can be an BIG difference agenst an enemy whit big Defense agenst a Damage Type, like the Miners are Hie Resistant agenst Sword whit Standard Damage But a Club whit Strike Damage will Deal whit them quiet easily.
sorry fore the Rant, but the short of it is, you Should try to swing ANY weapon you Find to See if it meit Feel Good to use, you meit be surprised and Find Something Good that Work's Fore you.
Great point on comparing new weapons from the store to upgraded weapons in inventory.
FYI - Might.
FYI 2 - Against.
Good lord.
