How long does the tree burn for?

Does it ever stop burning? I was making bomb-ass live wallpapers with a camera mod but now that I've burned that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass tree, I can't get rid of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ red embers flying through the air constantly. If someone could hook me up with a save game I could use with a arrrrr version of the game that would be absolutely grand and I'll personally thank you!

Sadly don't think you can send save games. But you can just do it on NG+ if that helps.

On the plus side I think burning Erdtree wallpaper would look awesome.

I mean "how long does it burn for" suggests that you believe it might eventually run itself out if you wait for a bit, which is a funny idea. That's all. Don't take me too seriously.

It's not going to stop burning until you go to NG+

I think it takes about a week of real time for it to disappear. Trouble is that even after waiting for the burning to finish, it keeps smouldering for a few more days afterwards.

If you've set the tree ablaze, then you've basically finished the game. You got two (technically three) bosses and then you're done.

Do that, start NG+, and breeze through all the easy early bits of the game so you can continue doing your screenshots. Don't worry about your gear, you get to keep it.
