Giant bosses really ruin the game experience
I love this game, hence why I've put 200 hours into it before even finishing my first playthrough.

But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, do these giant bosses absolutely suck. They're so big that the camera is working against you if you try to rely on target lock, they literally live in the sky above you so that you can't see them telegraphing their moves and in the case of one very late-game boss, the arena is absolutely huge and the boss can travel across the arena in about 3 seconds, leaving you to sprint across the arena for a full 15 seconds in the hopes of getting to attack the boss.

It's not that big bosses are bad in principle, just look at Bloodborne's bosses, but when they're so fast or mobile that you spend the entire fight just trying to get to them, the boss fight gets incredibly tedious.

Imagine locking on to giants as melee char

And don't even get me started on the ulcerated tree spirit, copy-paste bosses are terrible

I only do when I'm doing non-melee attacks, the issue is trying to see a giant boss that's flying above you in order to get your roll timing right

Even if you don't lock onto a giant boss you won't be seeing what they are doing most of the time, you are left to react as the attack comes into your line of sight. Most of the time I just hit their bottom a lot and then roll when I see them move on the chance it might be an attack.

Imagine defending the absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera that worked just fine for any of the previous games on the same exact thing

Yeah, that's the best way to go about it but the Elden Beast genuinely moves way too fast, you spend the entire fight trying to catch up to the guy.
He's not even that hard, it's just that you're always running in order to get a chance to hit him before he runs again

Yes, exactly like the fire giant who keeps rolling around the arena and you have to run after him in vain and when you reach him you have little stamina.
Fortunately From Software comes to your aid thanks to the many glitchs

The rotting secondary boss, present in the area of Malenia, the one for the Millicent quest, I killed him without even entering the arena, using Radanh's heavy bow hitting him from a branch

absolutely, i've felt this with every giant enemy up to this point, and fire giant felt like an ultimate meme compilation of all the complaints i've had with them (too big to see what they're doing, constantly shifting out of reach, firestorm attack forcing a disengage without any actual interesting gameplay etc)

Fire Giant isn't really the worst in the game as far as giant bosses go, it does get a lot worse with the Elden Beast. :(

imagine an awful boss with everything that you hate about bosses all rolled into one. Elden beast is probably worse than that

Shouldnt be running at fire giant when you can ride torrent to hime. You have invuln frames in the dismount too so you can jump under him and get to his legs easily enough.

don't lock onto massive enemies. Its so much easier to fight them not locked on.
