When should I stop using meteor staff?

It's S tier in int scaling but it can't be upgraded. Is it better to just go with a different upgraded staff?

I stopped when I could buff Lusat's staff to like 9 or 10. Unless you have fp management issues. Haven't tried azul staff much but Lusat walked me threw the entire actual harder part of my first playthrough.

Carian Regal Scepter is what you will use for general perpose all around use. Lusat's is the highest damage staff for bosses or "all out" damage.
You can always dual-wield staves and have the meteor staff in your other hand, you will still get the bonus to grav spells just FYI.

If you have balanced int/faith you can use prince of death but you need those both high and 5 points difference to match Lusats. Azurs is kinda not worth it. Just do dex and the charm if you want cast speed.

it really isn't. you're not going to find it early without game knowledge and it get's outclassed by basically every other staff shortly after they get 50% upgraded

It's pretty much straight-up the best staff in the game.
IIRC even at full upgrade level, the other staves don't end up with S scaling.

I feel like my magic damage is lacking but my int is 60. I'm level 115

Definitely pick up a different staff to use over Meteor. If you upgrade Rennala's boss weapon it does outclass meteor around +6 or +7, with no downsides. Lussat's staff then outclasses Rennala's at +8, though you pay extra FP to cast spells, and as far as I can tell the damage is negligible...

There's more than one staff that can reach S-rank Intelligence scaling, they just need to be upgraded enough.

Once you can upgrade some staffs to +7, they are better than the meteor staff. Other staffs end up with S scaling and much higher damage. Meteor staff is really good for a while though.

I have found that Demihuman staff to be really good early-mid game, too. It starts out with higher INT and Spell scaling, so when you upgrade it, it actually starts to outshine the Meteorite Staff pretty quickly.
It also outshines the other Glintstone and Carian staffs when it comes to scaling.

if you max the prince of death staff out and have atleast 80 int and 80 faith you will have a 430 spell modifier

, lustat/azur/scepter all end up with S rate scaling once upgraded and each becomes stronger than meteorite staff. My advice, still with meteorite staff until you can upgrade one of the following staffs to +7 at least.

Demihuman Queen's staff is solidly good. I guess the "good with low INT" means they gave it higher base scaling, which also gives it hefty scaling, 'cause that's what the scaling effects. it's just really good.

I have been asking myself the same question - tbh I feel like a total noob still using the same staff I have throughout basically the entire game but everything else I have found so far - even upgraded - is not as good.

I just got my base INT up to use both Lusat's and Azur's staffs. Upgraded Lusat's staff till it had equal sorcery scaling as my meteorite staff and they do the same damage yet it cost more FP to use Lusat's staff. As the staff says it enhances the power of all sorcerers i'm not seeing it. Just the FP extra cost. Same with the Azur staff I see no reduced cast time normal or charged. They broken? or is it just the option to upgrade them that makes them more powerful?

If you're going all in for int (70) then Rennala scepter is great, upgrade it and see when it has higher magic number.
