Did anybody else accidentally skip Stormveil castle?

I missed the tutorial message that said you can fast travel from the map (completely overlooked the church, so I couldn't craft things either), and I had figured I'd need to find a Lord Vessel equivalent so I could fast travel from a Grace. So when I dropped down the one bridge and sat at a Grace on the other side I was "stuck" in the lake region for a good while before I figured it out. Felt a bit dumb

I didn't think the side path existed on my first playthrough.
Now I just skip it all the time. Skip capital to mountaintop.

I knew you could fast travel but didn't realized that you could access the map from outside a site of grace for the longest time. Needless to say I jump to my death a few times thinking I was softlocked.

No, I intentionally skipped it. I just wanted to see what was on the other side.

Same here. Was exploring blind, wondering how to enter royal capital after killing the sentinel gatekeeper, ending up in wandering off even more and in killing Radahn, Astel, Mohg, and lastly Rennala before realizing Godrick, the guy some NPC was talking about, was an actual boss I was yet to kill, not some dude I met at an evergaol.
