Bypassing Melina?

Just tested this. Got two great runes. Went to the capital. Sealed shut.

It's only possible to get inside after you talk to the old lady by the fingers. For that you have to be teleported to the round table by Melina.

However... I do remember there's a portal to get inside somehow. Somewhere underground I think. It sends the player just past the horse knight at the door. So it might still be possible to bypass that and reach the tree. If that can be done then obtain the frenzied flame and see if you can get into the tree for the end game bosses withoue Melina. Haven't tested that part yet. Anyone else done it?

I'm trying to remember where that portal is. It's not the one that sends you to the fire giant with the dew talisman. It's a differnt one.

I might be wrong about this, but I think it's either the one next to the building where you find Ranni's quest item in Nokron, or the one next to Fia in the Deeproot Depths.

Deeproot Depths is the place you're thinking of. You'll have to try it out, cause those portals sometimes don't activate until something else happens.

The portal is in the Deeproot Depths boss room, which is only accessible after clearing Nokron, which is only accessible after defeating Radahn.

Not sure if any of that is possible without speaking to Melina. Good luck with your testing. :)

She IS required to enter the capital city though. Unless the player can get to that portal to get past that.

Wrong Warping is possible. Perfumer Grove Grace sets wrong warps possible. You can literally get anywhere without a single Great Rune with knowing tricks like zipping and wrong warp.
