144 hz PLEASE
It's weird nobody adressed this already, why can't we have more fpses that than the weird cap of 60? it's honestly bothering me especially since alot of areas in the game literally make them drop all of a sudden. Nothing too crazy don't get me wrong were talking 7 to 8 frames and it doesn't bother me but MAN
I miss the fluidity of my monitors hz....

There are mods out of there that allow you to uncap the fpses and turn off vsync, but damn the screan tear is too much. I tried turning it off from nvidia control panel but fpses are still capped and then there's that one problem. I don't want to mod the game, so can we please adress this? would be dope.

It's not going to happen as the fans of Fromsoft think it takes ages to even do something so insane as an unlocked frame rate. If it was up to the fans we would still be at 30fps as that is what the original DS launched with until a modder put them to shame on launch day with a fix to everything that was wrong with the game with zero access to the source code. Blame the fans for roasting other companies for minor issues and giving Fromsoft a free pass.

60 is fine for a game like this.
Orion Invictus Mar 16, 2022 @ 3:46pm
It won't happen. The physics would go haywire because the way the engine works is outdated (just like a lot of things about the game).

That physics thingy is already debunked tbh.
You can unlock the framerate with mods and the physics are fine, just like they were in Sekiro and all previous Souls games.
60 is still fine for this kind of game.

not only is 60 good for these games, but 30 is good for these games.

not only is 30 good for these games, but FROM is not good from a technical standpoint n never was. things tend to dip to the 30s at a random time for random reasons.

given these 2 things, its unbelievable to me that u wanna attempt to run this any higher, as if it wont make ur pc explode like a tactical nuke

it was not debunked. it was never debunked. u can untie physics from the framerate, yea. its possible. but its a big pain, n its still buggy n still mite break ♥♥♥♥.

What are you all talking about. I have the game uncapped, no bugs, no screen tearing, it all works just fine.
Fuzzy Mar 16, 2022 @ 3:54pm
how do we know you are a real human? sounds like something a robot would desire, how does a nicely formatted hdd sound to you robot? thats what i thought.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Possible and a big pain, took what, few hours from the release for that mod to be out?
Yeah, nothing was tied to framerate.
Knocks (I BUY MICS) Mar 16, 2022 @ 4:10pm
I would bet some things are probably wonky with higher framerate like they were in DS1, you would fall through the map when sliding down ladders for instance. That being said, these games objectively feel better to play at a higher framerate (especially sekiro), and although I think 60 is fine, doesn't mean it wouldn't be better with unlocked framerate. I love From, but they're becoming Activision at this point with the way they use a wholly outdated engine.

Yeah, Sekiro went from 7/10 to 10/10 for me by unlocking the framerate and adding 25% fov.
It became my favorite game from FromSoftware, by far.

24 fps for this game is fine, in fact it will look more cinematic.
ANGRY MALICE Mar 16, 2022 @ 4:13pm
Bro come on. Monitor refresh rate =/= fps.
The game does run @144hz if you set it to borderless. Still won't get more than 60fps tho.
