Lyndell capital secret (perhaps?)

So, i found message telling me something like "Only going backwards will solve the mystery" near the castle where you fight Godfrey. I tried to pull the mob and literally go backwards towards the statue but it doesn't seem to work. Couldn't find anything on the internet either, so i would appreciate if anyone could help me with this one.

are you talking about the goldmask quest and law of regression puzzle?

Find out the biggest secret in Elden Ring.

It's part of Goldmask's questline as well if you are doing that.

use law of regression while standing on the message, another message should appear giving you lore and enabling you to continue the goldmasks quest

Oh, so to solve it you need a spell? And also its a part of the questline, which i missed, so i am probably gonna get it on the next playthrough as a mage. Somehow managing to skip those NPCs in souls games all the time.

Oh, so to solve it you need a spell? And also its a part of the questline, which i missed, so i am probably gonna get it on the next playthrough as a mage. Somehow managing to skip those NPCs in souls games all the time.

The spell you get from the cradle hanging above Godfrey's boss arena you just beat up.

Yea, i found it, tho it requires a lot of wisdom to use.

You can always respec just to use it and then back again. It's a one-off thing if you wanna know the big secret that bad.

I'm at the point were I cast the spell on the message, but the statue doesn't change. The Gold mask guy and the cleric have move to the cliff overlooking the city and I talked to them as much as I could. But no joy. Any suggestions?

I'm at the same point. Anybody have a clue? This toon is the second character on the "Brother Corhyn & Goldmask Questline" - didn't work on first toon and read somewhere that suggested running through the game without doing any other quests and not collecting any more runes after the Great Rune of the Unborn. Stil no joy on second toon either.
