keyboard control issue

when i have to pick something up or interact it tells me to use Y botton but does not work at all, controls are horrible just got the game and unable to play because of this ,thinking of refund time

If you go into the options, somewhere in there you can change the on-screen prompts from controller to mouse and keyboard. Then hit Q to back out of the options menu.
