i'm trying to play DS2 again to get a clearer picture of things x)
the only reason i didnt speedrun the late part of the game is cuz i still have a hope for some new content frome the *side* part of the game.
few times i was able to find some legit new bosses and enemyes but only few.
game hold the phase rly hard. like rly rly hard.
DS3 is superior on this part compare to ER
In DS3 roll and light attack are the name of the game for a melee build. In ER special moves, jump attacks, charged attacks and stacking conditions like bleed become way more potent.
In fact I would highly not recommend doing the old DS3 roll&R1 combat - really inefficient in ER, I do way more jumping attacks than R1s in boss battles, for example.
Its a shame I hoped for more, after Sekiro i was excited which i really enjoyed Sekiro even tough it didnt have much replayability compared to Nioh.
The game feels like a reskin of a 2009 game with some minor upgrades.
lot of DS players complain about how fast are bosses and unavoidable, etc.. but with Nioh experience u will be fine.
about "clunky" combat
there is few things
1) dodge on release and not on press
2) input queue (evil feature :D ) ,,basically when ur mashing buttons, then second action go in queue and when is done first action, then it automatically do next action..
its not that horrible how it sounds..
for example when you attack and you mashing that attack, then it make first attack animation - in that moment u realize that you want dodge - but it continue with second attack ;)
you can get used to
watch maybe more gameplay
but by my opinion is ER awesome.. and Nioh and Nioh2 are my fav games.. DS feels like slowmotion, ER is ok
that was pretty quick :D
Still I would say try the game out for an hour, if you aren't enjoying it you can just refund it. You might also enjoy sekiro more than elden ring.
mhm that's intresting too, ty :)
aight thanks for the info ! more variety of moves is also what i liked in nioh compared to DS, so that's a good point for elden ring :p
thanks for your reply, it's very helpful and most people seem to agree with that so I guess elden ring will be a hard pass for me. i might finally buy sekiro though, I always hear good things about this one !
