How do you fight Preceptor Miriam?

I'm a melee build and no matter how many times I get close to her she teleports away. What am I meant to do?!

literally used the crafting feature for the first time to make a bunch of bleed kukri's and spammed them when she charges the bow sorcery. no idea how you are supposed to ever melee her lol

you can buy kukri, throwing dagger and use crossbow, this is the way again dat annyoing fker

Phase 2 requires using ranged weapons.

Which is also an opportunity to learn about their usefulness.

I went up the ladder, found a good spot and jump attacked her from a beam. I'm pretty sure you can reach her from atleast one of the beams.

Took me 6 Deaths as Melee to deal with her. First lure the 2 Hands to their suicide, then start charging towards her and do quick hits while avoiding the Spear Knight.
Once she teleports, block and counter the Knight and CRIT attack him.
Then lure the other fingers before going after her again.

I just cheesed her with the elevator. It was more simple.

I just used a long range bow cheese.
I have 300 wooden bolts and arrows ever since the DS1 bridge dragon cheese was a thing.
