You're suppose to stand toe to toe with him. Takes maybe 5 swings max to kill his horse, then he is stunned for 6 seconds. In that time you can kill him way before phase3 of the fight even starts. The entire fight maybe takes 1:40 seconds if you do it this way.
he probably wouldve not been that easy if i didnt use the summons since they tank and distract him
altho i did basically all the damage
but i just realized really fast that this wont be a fight like vs godric, bcause as i said
i cant see his attack. so i cant patiently study his attacks and learn how to dodge until i beat him
so i was like meh im use the summons
went in 3 times on him during the fight, tried avoiding as many attacks on him as possible altho it was just random basically
and just smashed R1 as much as i could until he was dead
i dont understand why they didnt design him like godric and margit
prob wouldve been enough if they wouldve just made the model smaller
sad... missed opportunity in my oppinion....
Completely rolls over like a little dog if you play ranged/status tho. Once again, just like most bosses lol. I genuinely believe they don't play test anything pass Limsgrave and Liurnia. After Capitol the quality of the game nose dives.
He is literally the easiest boss in the game if you hit his horse. He falls over and lets you kill him for free without moving. Unless you deal really low damage, then he has time to jump off and start phase3. But I didn't even let him jump. Was lv 36 when I fought him.
i actually dont think he punishes meele that hard
bcause you keep walking below his body between his legs most of his attacks cant hit you
just like with the giants in the beginning of the game
then he starts running in circles with his weird af mini horse and then you can just walk below his body again
how would meele supposed to do it differently anyways i mean
but the model is just too big
its just stupid
all his attacks are fine imho and actually interestend
would love to fight him in godrics size and actually be able to see what he is goin to do
Everybody knows that. The problem is when he hits 25% HP and summons the 4 rocks. If he does that along with the slam that spawns purple orbs and they target you at the same time? You're dead because we don't have enough iframes to roll the last 2 rocks.
If you play ranged you simply do not have to deal with this. Watch Lobo or HappyHobbit. Their attempt to no-hit this guy is based solely on him not using that combo.
Not to mention fighting him melee you'll have to deal with ♥♥♥♥ camera because he's too big. Once again, not a problem if you play ranged.
This game really, really pushes you towards hybrid builds. A lot of bosses have extra gimmicks that'll only punish you for being melee. Like Lich Dragon periodic thunder strike or Godskin flame circle. Those things ain't a factor for spell users.
Well you clearly don't.
Because when you kill his horse, you have won the fight. I fought him at LOW LV with a claymore and as soon as his horse died. I killed him in the next 5 seconds before he could jump away. I think I had to hit him maybe like 7 or 8 times. Doing it this way you will literally never have to deal with phase 3.
might do it on my next playthrough
haha lol
ye there are summon signs in the boss room
you have to activate them
